Privacy Policy

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name through our authentication provider, Clerk. We do not collect passwords directly -- authentication is handled entirely by Clerk.

When you use LifeRules, we store the content you create, including your life rules, descriptions, categories, tags, and any organizational preferences such as favorites, pins, and archive status.

We also collect basic usage data such as timestamps (when rules are created, updated, or last accessed) to power features like sorting and activity tracking.

Your data is used solely to provide and improve the LifeRules service. We use your email for account identification and essential communications (such as password resets and security alerts).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your life rules content is private to you and is never used for advertising, training AI models, or any purpose beyond delivering the service.

We rely on the following trusted third-party services:

• Clerk -- Handles authentication, session management, and user identity. Clerk processes your email and login credentials securely.
• Neon PostgreSQL -- Our database provider, where your life rules and account data are stored with encryption at rest.
• Vercel -- Hosts and serves the LifeRules application. Vercel may collect anonymized performance and usage analytics.

Each of these services maintains their own privacy policies and adheres to industry-standard security practices.

We retain your data for as long as your account exists and is active. If you choose to delete your account, all associated data -- including your life rules, preferences, and profile information -- will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

You can request data deletion at any time by contacting us at privacy@liferules.app.

LifeRules uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management, provided by Clerk. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies.

A theme preference cookie may also be stored locally to remember your light or dark mode selection.
